Hospice Philosophy

Hospice affirms life.  Hospice of Southern West Virginia exists to provide support and care for persons in the last phases of terminal illness so that they might live as fully and comfortably as possible.

It is our hope and belief that, through professional nursing care and the promotion of a caring community sensitive to their needs, participants and families will be free to attain a degree of mental and spiritual preparation in the final months of life.

When Is It Time for Hospice?

The time to find out more about Hospice services is now. The belief that Hospice services are reserved for those patients who have weeks or days to live is a misunderstanding. Patients diagnosed with six months or less to live qualify for Hospice services. Waiting means that patients miss out on the improved quality of life that Hospice can offer. In fact, once under Hospice services, many patients get better and statistics show they actually live longer.

If you know someone who is in need of Hospice services, don't wait. Call (304) 255-6404 today. Remember, anyone can make a referral for Hospice services. A physician referral is not necessary.
